Bonnect Terms of Service
1. Introduction
Bonnect Inc. is a Delaware corporation with principal operations based in Georgia, United States.
The term "Bonnect," "Us," "We," or "Our" refers to Bonnect Inc., the registered owner of the service. The term "Service" refers to Bonnect’s offerings, including but not limited to www.bonnect.com and mobile applications published by Us. The term "You" refers to the user or viewer of our Service. The term "Terms" refers to this statement of terms of service.
Welcome to Bonnect! Bonnect is an online platform that connects people looking to buy items ("Buyers") with those offering items for sale ("Sellers"). By continuing to browse and use the Service, You agree that We are not responsible for your personal safety or trade outcomes, and that You will comply with and be legally bound by these Terms, which govern Your relationship with Bonnect. If You disagree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Service.
Bonnect also leverages advanced technology, including AI-based fraud detection, real-time identity verification, and secure in-app payments, to create a safer and more trusted environment for secondhand transactions.
2. Eligibility
If You are a currently registered student, staff, faculty member, or alumnus of a college or university, are at least eighteen (18) years old, and possess a valid academic email address, You may create one account and access the Service under these Terms. Individuals who have been convicted or adjudicated of a criminal offense, are on probation, parole, or work release, or have been incarcerated are not eligible to participate in the Service.
As part of the registration process, Bonnect may evaluate the information You provide to assess Your risk level. This assessment may include the use of automated tools and risk models, and the resulting risk designation may influence Your access to certain features or services. Risk levels are used solely to enhance platform security and protect users from potential fraud or abuse.
3. Use
You agree to provide accurate, current, and truthful registration information. You must not collect, share, or misuse other users' personal or contact information. We reserve the right to reject or remove posts that violate the Terms, refuse access to specific individuals or entities, and update these Terms without notice.
4. Content
All content, whether publicly posted or privately shared, is the sole responsibility of its originator. While Bonnect uses automated tools, including AI systems, to help detect and reduce harmful or fraudulent content, We do not guarantee that all such content will be identified or removed. Use or reliance on any content from the Service is at Your own risk.
5. Fees and Payments
Bonnect is free to use. We do not charge for account registration, browsing, or item listing. However, if You choose to complete a transaction using Bonnect’s in-app payment system, a 5% service fee may apply. All applicable fees will be clearly disclosed to You prior to payment, and You may choose to use alternative off-platform payment methods if preferred.
6. Responsibility
Your use of the Service is at Your own risk. The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind. To the extent allowed by law, Bonnect disclaims all express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Bonnect is a peer-to-peer secondhand marketplace platform. We do not operate a refund or return policy for transactions made on the platform. All purchase and return decisions are made solely between the Buyer and the Seller. However, in cases of disputes, Bonnect may intervene at our sole discretion to facilitate communication and potential resolution between the parties involved.
7. Restrictions
We reserve the right to remove or block content, suspend or terminate users, and reclaim usernames. We may access and disclose information as needed to comply with laws, enforce Terms, prevent fraud or technical issues, respond to user requests, or protect rights and safety.
Bonnect also strictly prohibits the use of threatening, harassing, or abusive language on the platform, including but not limited to hate speech or discriminatory remarks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or disability. Users engaging in such behavior will be subject to immediate and permanent account termination.
Bonnect strictly prohibits the listing, sale, or promotion of the following categories of items: medical equipment or supplies, prescription drugs, weapons or firearms, adult content or products, items that incite violence, or any goods that are illegal, unsafe, or violate the rights of others.
Users may report listings or user behavior they believe violates these Terms via our in-app reporting tools or by contacting our support team. Reports are reviewed by Bonnect's moderation system, which may include automated tools and human reviewers.
Bonnect maintains a user blacklist system. Users who are found to have repeatedly violated our Terms, posted prohibited content, or engaged in fraudulent behavior may be permanently restricted from accessing the Service. Bonnect reserves the right to update its restriction and enforcement policies without notice.
8. Moderation
We may moderate Bonnect content and access at our discretion, including filtering, delaying, or deleting content, and suspending accounts. Users may not circumvent such moderation. We are not liable for any moderation action or inaction. To enhance safety and fraud prevention, Bonnect uses automated tools and artificial intelligence (AI) systems to monitor certain user-generated content, including listings and communications between users, for violations of our policies. These systems operate in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Copyright
All content on the Bonnect website and mobile app, including layout, graphics, and logo, is owned or licensed by Us. Unauthorized reproduction is prohibited. Trademarks not owned by Us are acknowledged on the site.
10. Buyer Protection with Bonnect Payments
When You complete a transaction using Bonnect’s built-in payment system, You may be eligible for protection against verified fraud. Verified fraud refers to a transaction in which Bonnect determines, after internal investigation, that a Buyer has been intentionally deceived or misled by the Seller.
To qualify for reimbursement, the Buyer must have completed Stripe identity verification through the Bonnect platform. This requirement helps us ensure secure transactions and protect our user community.
If a transaction is determined to be fraudulent, We will compensate You for the value of the transaction, up to a maximum of $20 per transaction. Each verified user is eligible for reimbursement for up to five (5) qualifying incidents per calendar year.
For transactions where the disputed amount exceeds $20, Bonnect does not offer additional financial reimbursement but may assist You by providing documentation, template materials, or guidance to help you pursue legal remedies or file claims with the appropriate authorities.
11. Withdrawal Processing Time
For all users, Bonnect applies a standard payout waiting period of three (3) business days after funds become available.
For a user’s first-ever payout, a longer waiting period of seven (7) business days applies.
Once the waiting period is complete, the payout is initiated, and bank processing typically requires an additional one (1) business day.
Please note that all payout and banking operations are processed only on business days. Weekends and U.S. federal holidays are not counted toward the waiting or processing time.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate Your account or access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that We believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, Us, or third parties, or for any other reason in Our sole discretion.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bonnect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) Your use or inability to use the Service; (b) any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein; (c) any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service; or (d) any bugs, viruses, or the like that may be transmitted to or through the Service. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Bonnect may provide limited reimbursement in cases of verified fraud through transactions completed using Bonnect's built-in payment system, as outlined in Section 9.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
15. Miscellaneous
Users with existing written licenses may access Bonnect under those terms until terminated. These Terms represent the entire agreement between You and Us. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect. In the event of translation discrepancies, the English version shall control. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information on data use.
